Life Before and After 3 Kids
I have always been that child with extra flesh and weight. Growing up, I was mocked by my dad, who thought it was his own way of pushing me to lose a few KG. He always compared me to my elder sister, who has always been skinny and is still skinny. After years of mockery, I grew a thick skin and ignored everyone. Although I have always been chubby, I did exercise in school and was on the track team.
Prior to moving to the United States for College, I weighed 150 lbs and most of my weight was around my stomach and thighs. After moving to the United States, I lived on own and found it difficult adjusting to a new environment without my parents. I relied on Burger Kings and Panda Express from 2008 to 2012. In Summer of 2012, I suffered depression. During my Depression, I was so sick that my body rejected food for months, which led to me suffering stomach ulcers. I struggled so hard to graduate and finally, in 2013, I graduated from College with a B.Sc. in Accountancy and Finance. The day after graduation, I was reviewing the pictures that we had taken and I was so disgusted by my picture that I decided to sign up with 24hrs fitness and a personal trainer.
I signed up with a CW of 185 lbs in July of 2013. I worked out continuously for 6 months and I took appetite suppressant and in December of 2013, I weighed 158 lbs. Then I found out that I was pregnant in January of 2014 and stopped my appetite suppressant. I maintained a steady weight during pregnancy, however, in the last month of my pregnancy, I started suffering depression and preeclampsia, which led to weight gain. After birthing my first son, I slipped into postpartum depression and went for weeks with sleeping, crying and overeating. I craved sweets and all sought of unhealthy food. After 1 year, I had lost touch with trying to keep my weight down. I was weighing 230 lbs in September of 2015. Between the long hours at work and crazy family schedule, it was hard to meal prep, manage my diet or workout. So I decided to start taking my appetite suppressants again to help weight loss. Towards the ending of October 2015, I found out that I was pregnant and so I stopped taking the appetite suppressants. During my second pregnancy, I lost 30 lbs because I had morning sickness and very poor appetite. After birthing my daughter, I decided to use IUD, and work towards weight loss. However, it was so difficult to lose weight. Rather than lose weight, I kept gaining. I tried all weight loss remedy, diets except surgery but rather than lose weight, I gained and before I knew it, I was weighing 240 lbs. In March of 2018, I got so sick that I thought that I was going to die, so I decided to try Keto. I was on Keto for 2 months and lost 15 lbs. In August of 2018, we started the busy tax season with crazy hours. Due to lack of sleep and crazy hours, my body started slipping back to unhealthy practice and I stopped Keto. I gained all the weight I lost and just decided to give up.
I just had my third child and my second son in August of 2019 and I decided to weigh myself. I was weighing 250 lbs after pushing out an 8 lbs 6oz child. After seeing my weight on the scale, I decided that I have to make lifestyle changes so that I can live a healthy and longer life. I started Keto diet again 4 weeks postpartum and included intermittent fasting and I have felt crappy, sugar withdrawal, angry, depressed and all sorts of crazies, but I made a promise to myself to lose 100 lbs by December 2020 and I plan to achieve it.
Join me on the journey of my weight loss, my goals, my fears, my failures and basically my life as a working mom with 3 kids and a clueless husband.
I will check my progress every month and keep you updated. I currently dont exercise, but I hope to add exercise to my weight loss journey from January 2020. Right now, I am just focusing on meal prep, changing the types of food I buy and cook, eliminating certain food items from home and changing my life as well as my three kids, Kosy 5, Kamsy 3 and Kenny 7 weeks old.
